RemListDB

Privacy Policy

Last updated May 22, 2026. This policy describes how RemListDB ("the app") handles your information.

The short version

RemListDB stores your lists and reminders only on your device. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising trackers, and no third-party SDKs that send data off your device.

Information we collect

None. RemListDB does not contact any servers operated by us or by third parties. All reminder lists, items, notes, due dates, priorities, and settings you create in the app are stored locally on your device using Apple's on-device SwiftData framework.

We do not collect:

Permissions the app may request

RemListDB may ask iOS or macOS for the following permissions. Each is requested only when you actively use the related feature, and each can be revoked at any time in your device's Settings.

Notifications

Requested only when you turn on Due Date Reminders in Settings. Used locally to schedule a notification when one of your reminder items is due. The notification content is generated on your device and never leaves it.

Files

Used when you tap Export to JSON or Import from JSON. Backup files are written to and read from the RemListDB/Backups folder under On My iPhone/iPad/Mac, visible in the Files app. RemListDB only accesses files at your explicit request.

Third-party services

RemListDB does not embed third-party analytics, advertising, attribution, crash-reporting, or tracking SDKs of any kind. No data is shared with third parties because no data leaves your device.

Aggregate App Store metrics (downloads, ratings, and crash reports voluntarily submitted by users through iOS) are provided to us by Apple in anonymized form and are governed by Apple's privacy policy, not ours.

Data storage and retention

Your data lives on your device until you remove it. Specifically:

Backup files you create with Export to JSON remain on your device (or wherever you choose to copy them) until you delete them. We never see these files.

Children's privacy

RemListDB does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The app is suitable for all ages and complies with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) by virtue of collecting no data at all.

Your rights

Because RemListDB stores no data outside your device, there is nothing for us to access, export, correct, or delete on your behalf — you remain in full control of your information at all times. Regulations such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) grant rights of access, deletion, and portability over personal data held by a service; with RemListDB, those rights are satisfied by the app itself: you can view, edit, export, and delete every piece of your data directly within the app.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "last updated" date. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes on the App Store.
