Straight and Narrow Way
I wrote this
poem on the occasion of my son John being baptized into the church. John has had a rather varied experience with
religion. I have always been a Latter
Day Saint, John's mother was an Episcopalian and converted to Mormonism and has
since converted to Catholicism. But in
spite of it all, John seems to have his feet on the ground and knows what he
believes and I'm very proud of him.

The Straight and Narrow Way
What does it mean to be a member of
Christ's own church?
To walk in the path that he trod?
What does it mean to be baptized?
To be a child of God?
Where will this path that you've started
today
Take you as you travel this life?
Will you find joy in service to God?
Or will you find sorrow and strife?
The way is well marked and you cannot go
wrong,
If you follow the way that He led.
We know of His life and deeds and words
In the books of scripture we've read.
We all must take the jouney of life,
It's something we all must do.
But where it leads and where it ends
Is a choice that is up to you.
