Mary England is my granddaughter and just as cute as a bug in a rug. One day when she was visiting I asked for a kiss and she wrinkled up her nose and turned her head and shouted No! This is kind of unusual for her because she is usually very affectionate. But it so reminded me of her mother, my daughter Jennifer, that I couldn.t resist writing a little limerick to capture the moment.

There once was a lass named Mary
Who was cute just like a fairy.
When asked for a kiss
She.d throw a cute fit.
She was really very contrary.
