A Blessing Clothed in White

This was a poem I wrote for Analia's valentine in 2001.  It refers to our wedding in the Oakland temple where dressed in white we knelt across the alter and made vows that sealed us together for eternity.  She was then and is now and will always be my greatest blessing.

A Blessing Clothed in White

She knelt across the alter

Arrayed in purest white.

Her eyes danced and sparkled

Reflecting heaven's light.

Across the alter I held her hand

And vowed before my Lord

To keep her in my heart forever

And my eyes to heaven ward.

We vowed that day to become as one

And share the joys of life

That I would be her constant mate

And she my loving wife.

The years have passed and the Lord has blessed

Our lives in every way,

Children blessed with worthy mates

Bring joy to every day.

A lovely home to warm the heart

And friends both good and true

And strength to meet the toils of life

And joy in all we do.

For these blessings and so many more

I thank the Lord each day

For leading me toward the light

To help me find the way.

But none of these would mean a thing

Though bathed in heaven's light

Without the blessing God gave me

All clothed in snowy white.
