Your Baptism

This poem was written for Cate Pedersen on the occasion of her baptism. It reflects our belief that when you are baptized, you are washed clean of sin. It also makes reference to the covenants that we make with our Heavenly Father at that time.

Your Baptism

Down into the water you have gone

And clean you rise again,

You've promised to keep the commandments

And honor to defend.

The Holy Ghost is now with you,

Your dear and constant friend,

To guide you through life's ups and downs

Until your journey's end.

May god bless your path and keep you safe

From sin and error's way,

Keep your feet on his path and your hand on the rod

Each and every day.
