Hearts

This poem was written in Analia's valentine in 1993. I don't think that there are any hidden meanings or profound observations in it. It is just a statement of my love for her and an observation of how fragile love can be.

Hearts

A heart is such a fragile thing

And needs most tender care

For words of love and loving deeds

Are often harbored there.

A heart can swell to twice its size

When love is what it's shown

Or shrivel up to not at all

If it is left alone.

A heart can feel most anything

The human mind can think

But often feelings of the heart

Are not for pen and ink.

And so my love my heart is full

As it should truly be

That God has given me to you

And you your heart to me.
