Chums
This
poem was written for Lori Pedersen's birthday card. Analia had found a really cute card with a bear and a bee on the
front and wanted to know if I could think of something to write in it. This poem was the result of that request.

Chums
Barney Bear and Buddy Bee
Were friends of a special kind.
They romped in fields and
smelled the flowers
The sweetest they could find.
They never thought how odd it
was
That a bee and a bear should be
Friends, and they certainly
never sought
For other company.
They were chums with one desire
And that to find a way
To show the things their heart
could feel
But words could never say.
We all need friends who fill
our lives
With joy just like these two.
And when I think of special
friends
Today I think of you.
