Christmas Letter 1989

This poem was written for our family Christmas card for 1989.  I don't know that it requires much of an explanation.  It really just gives a thumbnail sketch of current events around the Wolfenbarger household.  The only thing that might not be obvious is the the reference to the little box that Analia had.  It was a Temns machine.  It gaves out pulsing shocks to the person wearing it.  Its purpose is to confuse the brain so that it looses some of the pain signals that are being sent to it from various parts of the body.  It was suppose to relieve the back pain that she had been experiencing.  It seemed to work but it was very expensive and she seems to be able to relieve the pain with exercises and so the Temns machine was no longer required.

Christmas Letter 1989

Nineteen-hundred and eighty-nine
Was quite a year and mighty fine.
John came home to stay for good
And raised his grades,  We knew he could.

The Giants lost in series play
But they'll rise to win another day.
We faired quite well the great earthquake
Some lamps did tumble but none did break.

But earthquakes aren't the only shocks.
Analia has a little box
That zaps her pain from back and mind,
The neatest trick you'll ever find.

And Jenny's music improves each day
It fills our home with songs so gay.
She plays so well, she'll surely be
The ward pianist, wait and see.

The Lord has called both Mom and Dad
To serve the Ward.  We're really glad.
Primary counselor is Mom's new trick
While Dad is in the Bishopric.

Our hearts are light, we all could clap
While momma takes another zap.
And daddy writes these poems for fun.
We send our love to every one.
