FlashDB Privacy Policy

FlashDB is a personal-study flashcard app for iPhone and iPad. This page explains what data the app handles, where that data lives, and what we do — and do not — do with it.

The short version

FlashDB does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information. The app works entirely on your device, with no account, no sign-in, and no internet connection required.

Information we collect

We collect nothing. FlashDB has no analytics, no advertising, no third-party tracking, and no telemetry of any kind. We do not know how you use the app, how often you open it, what cards you create, or whether you finish your sessions.

Information you create and where it lives

While you use FlashDB you create or import the following kinds of content:

• Question text, answer text, and correct-answer markers.
• Optional tags you apply to questions.
• Optional images attached to questions.
• Optional study session records (date, mode, totals, duration) when "Show Study History" is on.
• Optional per-question attempt and miss counts when "Track Question Performance" is on.
• Your app settings.

Every one of these items is stored only on your device, in the app's private storage area. We have no access to it. iCloud and other Apple sync services are not used.

Import and export

FlashDB can import question sets from JSON files you choose using the iOS file picker, and can export your question set to a JSON file you save somewhere of your choosing. These transfers happen entirely on your device. We never see the files.

Third parties

FlashDB does not include third-party analytics, advertising, attribution, or crash-reporting SDKs. The app uses CTHelp_SwiftUI, an open-source help-content library, to display the in-app help screens. CTHelp_SwiftUI does not perform any network requests.

Children

FlashDB is appropriate for all ages. Because we collect no personal information from anyone, we collect no personal information from children. The app is compliant with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) by design.

Security

Because all data stays on your device inside the app's iOS sandbox, your data is protected by the same hardware-backed encryption and access controls that protect the rest of your device. Deleting the app removes all of its data.

Changes to this policy

If the app ever changes in a way that affects this policy, this page will be updated and the effective date above will change. We have no way to notify you directly because we do not collect contact information; check back here if you want to confirm the current text.
